Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sumi Gaeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gaeshi is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Welcome to the Jungle. Rocky Austin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaeshi with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Austin is staying active underneath Gaeshi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gaeshi wants to pass the guard but Austin is defending well.

That was a close round but I would say that Rocky Austin will probably get the nod.

Austin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gaeshi pinned against the cage. Gaeshi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Gaeshi has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Austin has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Austin controls Gaeshi momentarily but Gaeshi frees himself.

Gaeshi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Austin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Austin tries to get out of the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gaeshi pushes Austin away with a front kick.

You can see the frustration on Gaeshi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Austin scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gaeshi to see if he's OK.

Gaeshi is working to avoid the ground and pound but Austin connects with a decent elbow.

Austin tries for a kimura but Gaeshi is defending well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Austin grinds an elbow into Gaeshi's temple.
Gaeshi takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Austin throws a strike but Gaeshi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Austin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Austin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Austin cracks Gaeshi with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
