Couture is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Aerosmith- Back in the Saddle . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sousa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Couture moves out of range as Sousa strikes.
Sousa is looking to clinch but Couture is avoiding it.
Couture scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Couture swats away the attempt to clinch by Sousa.

Sousa clinches.
Couture misses with a knee strike.
Couture tries for a takedown. No joy.

Sousa gets control of Couture's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sousa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Couture not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Couture loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Couture wants to control from the top but Sousa keeps moving.

Couture is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Couture wants to sweep but no luck.

Couture keeping moving, preventing Sousa from controlling successfully.
Sousa prevents Couture from getting back to his feet.
Sousa throws and elbow that misses. Couture uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sousa's guard. Nice move by Couture!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Couture wants to control from the top but Sousa keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Couture lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sousa circles away quickly and effectively.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Couture counters with a right hand to the body.

and Couture counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sousa thinking.
Sousa is breathing heavily.
Sousa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Couture but Couture pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Couture!
Couture scores with a hook to the body. Sousa takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sousa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Couture.
Couture fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bryan Sousa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Couture.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Couture counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Sousa loses concentration momentarily and Couture pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Sousa crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Couture finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
