Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Vorg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Dragunov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Dragunov has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergei Vorg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Dragunov!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vorg gets the takedown into side control.
Vorg working the ground and pound but Dragunov is defending the strikes.
Dragunov is trying to improve his position.
Dragunov misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Dragunov is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Dragunov wants to control but Vorg postures up.
Dragunov tries to improve position but can't.

Vorg tries for a kimura but Dragunov is defending well.
Vorg throws a strike aimed at the side of Dragunov's head but Dragunov avoids it well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Vorg shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dragunov napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Vorg thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dragunov manages to get back to half guard.

Vorg prevents Dragunov from improving his position.
Dragunov is trying to stand up here but Vorg is controlling him well.

Vorg looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dragunov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dragunov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Vorg throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dragunov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Vorg scores with a couple of nice shots.
Vorg is controlling the pace.

Dragunov wants to get back to full guard.
Dragunov tries to kick Vorg off but Vorg keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Dragunov tries to roll over but Vorg keeps him under control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vorg in particular looking to stall.
Vorg's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sergei Vorg.

Vorg closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dragunov regains full guard. Nicely done.
Vorg wants to control from the top but Dragunov keeps moving.

Dragunov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vorg defends it easily.

Vorg shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dragunov's guard.

Dragunov has momentary wrist control but Vorg slips an elbow through the middle.
Dragunov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vorg is controlling him.
Vorg keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dragunov's head.
Vorg slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dragunov is trying to control the position but Vorg postures up.

Dragunov uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
Dragunov is breathing heavily.

Vorg feints and as Dragunov raises his hands in defense, Vorg changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vorg not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Vorg thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Vorg is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dragunov has escaped the position, nice work there.
Dragunov takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Vorg prevents Dragunov from escaping the position.
A lull in the action here.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Vorg tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Vorg lands a few punches from side control.
Vorg grinds an elbow into Dragunov's temple.
Vorg is looking to take a break and control but Dragunov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Dragunov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Vorg is looking to work some ground and pound but Dragunov has wrist control.
Dragunov keeping moving, preventing Vorg from controlling successfully.
Dragunov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vorg's guard.
Dragunov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vorg swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dragunov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Vorg seems keen to control Dragunov's posture.
Dragunov wants to pass the guard but Vorg is keeping the position.
Vorg is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dragunov is controlling him.
Vorg has Dragunov pulled in close to control his posture.

Dragunov is looking to stand up but Vorg won't let him.
Dragunov tries to free his leg and advance position but Vorg is retaining full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Vorg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vorg lands in his opponent's guard.
Dragunov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Vorg scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Vorg advances position into side control!
Dragunov is looking to reverse the position.

Vorg scores with a couple of short elbows.

Vorg wants to take a breather but Dragunov manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Vorg.

Vorg is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Vorg drops back looking for a leg! Dragunov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dragunov manages to kick Vorg off! Vorg jumps back into Dragunov's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sergei Vorg showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Vorg has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
