Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryoto Machita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filipo Barzino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machita's entrance music is Forsaker by Katatonia. A fine choice. Ryoto Machita could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Filipo Barzino's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machita changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barzino looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Machita gets to mount! Barzino was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Barzino is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Barzino looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Machita is not going to allow Barzino to sit and survive in this position.
Barzino trying to get back to his feet but Machita is in full control for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ryoto Machita just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Machita tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Barzino swivels and escapes.
Barzino throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Machita avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Barzino doesn't manage to clinch there - Machita circles away.

Machita throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barzino was covering up waiting for the punch and Machita finishes the takedown easily into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Machita darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Machita tries to pass the half guard into mount. Barzino knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Barzino tries to roll over but Machita keeps him under control.
Barzino is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Barzino is breathing heavily.

Machita tries to pass the half guard into mount. Barzino knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Machita prevents Barzino from improving his position.
Machita seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Barzino is looking for a sweep. Machita is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Machita perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Machita has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Barzino has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Machita is working away from the top position though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Barzino tries to close the distance and clinch up but Machita swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Barzino is looking to clinch but Machita is avoiding it.

Machita drives through with a takedown into guard.
Barzino is trying to keep Machita in close.
Machita passes Barzino's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Barzino takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Machita's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
