Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vitor Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe tries to clinch there but Santos circles away.
Santos goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Doe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Doe counters by clinching up.
Santos is looking to break free of the clinch but Doe has double underhooks.
Santos is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Doe is keeping busy.
A left hand lands to the body for Doe.
Santos throws a punch but it's blocked by Doe.
Santos stops a takedown attempt from Doe.
Doe tries to circle away but Santos has him pinned against the cage.

Doe turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Santos is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Santos is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Doe scores with a couple of nice shots.

Santos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Doe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Doe counters with a nice uppercut.

Santos trying to control the position but instead, Doe has worked for underhooks and has pushed Santos into the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Vitor Santos.
Santos tries to clinch but Doe moves out of range.
Santos dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Vitor Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Santos decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Santos tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Santos's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

You can see the frustration on Doe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Santos decides to stand back up. Santos steps back and let's Doe get back to his feet.

Santos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Doe, pushing him back against the cage.

Santos jumps into guard, dragging Doe to the mat.

Santos pulls Doe in close to his closed guard and prevents Doe from doing any damage or advancing position.
Santos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Doe manages to get himself to full guard.

Doe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Santos's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Santos's back!

Doe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Santos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Doe has managed to get both his arms back between Santos's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well Santos has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
