Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grant Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughes comes into the arena with Iron Man blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Martin as Hughes shoots in.
Martin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Hughes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hughes winds up and cracks Martin with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hughes is looking for a kimura but Martin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hughes to get the leverage.
Hughes passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A nice elbow there by Hughes.
Hughes postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Martin in real trouble here! The ref calls for Martin to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
