PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Boe Bam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Barat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bam kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Jacare. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bam fails to land the takedown.
Bam misses with a takedown attempt - Barat sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bam changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barat tries to avoid it but Bam manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barat to the ground. Barat escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

enabling Barat to counter with a crisp jab.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bam shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barat pinned against the cage. Barat gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

letting Barat counter with a right hand.
Barat thuds his right hand into Bam's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Barat tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bam was well out of range. Poor timing from Barat.

and Barat counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Boe Bam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barat gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bam drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barat manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bam has Barat in his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bam escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barat gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Boe Bam is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bam dives in and grabs Barat's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barat pushes down on Bam's head and hops out.
Barat rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bam moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Barat goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Barat connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bam. Bam circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bam is rocked!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Barat grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Bam takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Barat cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
