The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard misses with a takedown attempt - Peinetti sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Maynard is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Peinetti.
It looks like Ray Maynard has been cut.
Maynard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Peinetti sprawls well initially but Maynard persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maynard is looking to advance position but Peinetti won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maynard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Peinetti gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Peinetti trying to control the position from guard on top but Maynard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maynard looking for a sweep. Not yet Maynard, not yet.
Maynard looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Peinetti is looking to work some ground and pound but Maynard has wrist control.
Peinetti wants to get up but he can't break Maynard's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Peinetti drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Peinetti jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Maynard has a closed guard, preventing Peinetti from standing up.
Maynard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Peinetti tries to clinch up.
Nice combo by Peinetti! Oh, that's hurt him - Maynard falls to the canvas and Peinetti follows him into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big shot lands for Peinetti! That's hurt Maynard! Will he recover? Peinetti fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
