Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Rasputin Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russ Vanpelten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vanpelten has chosen For whom the bell tolls as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Piotr Rasputin Rasputin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Russ Vanpelten!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanpelten throws a hook but Rasputin avoids it easily.
Vanpelten is looking to clinch.
Vanpelten motions for Rasputin to come forward. Vanpelten throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Vanpelten throws a low kick, looking for Rasputin's leg but Rasputin calmly moves out of range.
Vanpelten wants to clinch.
Rasputin takes a swing at Vanpelten's ribcage but misses.
Rasputin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vanpelten looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Vanpelten takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Vanpelten doesn't manage to clinch there - Rasputin circles away.
Vanpelten takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rasputin keeps the fight on the outside.

Vanpelten wants to clinch up but Rasputin keeps it at a distance.

Vanpelten dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rasputin. That did some damage!

Russ Vanpelten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vanpelten turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Some bone on bone action there as Rasputin checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rasputin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vanpelten defends it well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rasputin winds up and cracks Vanpelten with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rasputin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Rasputin throws a combination. Vanpelten tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Rasputin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Russ Vanpelten is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Rasputin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rasputin is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vanpelten wants to stand and escape but Rasputin is having none of it.

Rasputin has Vanpelten pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rasputin pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Vanpelten tumbling to the mat - Rasputin dives into Vanpelten's guard.

Vanpelten wants to get back to his feet but Rasputin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

I think Rasputin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
