The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dahmer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gailfus sprawls well initially but Dahmer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gailfus is staying active underneath Dahmer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gailfus has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dahmer is working away from the top position though.
Dahmer is trying to control the action in half guard but Gailfus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dahmer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gailfus tries to lock up and control but Dahmer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Dahmer moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Gailfus has worked his arm free - good work by Gailfus!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gailfus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dahmer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gailfus pushes Dahmer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dahmer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Dahmer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gailfus knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Dahmer is bucking up trying to escape but Gailfus cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Gailfus shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dahmer napping and manages to drive through into side control!
