PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between jack chute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Howe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Greg Howe was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, jack chute!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Greg Howe!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
chute tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice takedown defense from Howe. No joy for chute on that attempt.
chute pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Howe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but chute paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Howe.

Howe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

chute shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. chute showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
chute thows a huge punch but Howe dodges it nicely.
chute is trying to control the action in half guard but Howe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

chute has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Howe is staying active underneath chute, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

chute throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Howe was covering up waiting for the punch and chute finishes the takedown easily into guard.
chute stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Howe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Howe can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Howe tries to close the distance and clinch up but chute swats him away and circles back towards the center.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Howe just misses with a elbow thrown towards chute's brow.

Howe is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
chute has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

chute has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

chute shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than chute was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

chute moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Howe has worked his arm free - good work by Howe!

And that's the end of the fight!

I think chute has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
