Claude comes to the cage accompanied by Bring Me The Horizon - Diamonds Aren't For Ever. Nuno Ribeiro is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nuno Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Claude has Ribeiro up against the cage in a clinch.
Ribeiro jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Claude walks away with a smile on his face. Ribeiro gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ribeiro gets caught flat footed, as Claude shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Ribeiro is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Claude wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving.
Claude has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Claude stopping the sweep attempt from Ribeiro.
Claude throwing strikes but missing.
Claude trying to control the position from guard on top but Ribeiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ribeiro throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Claude escapes and throws Ribeiro's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Claude tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Claude knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ribeiro on the ground.
Ribeiro gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ribeiro is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Claude pulls his head out easily.
Ribeiro moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Ribeiro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ribeiro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Claude gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Claude wants to pass the guard but Ribeiro is keeping the position.

Ribeiro wants to hit a switch here but Claude passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ribeiro there!

Ribeiro is working to get back to half guard.
Ribeiro flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Claude looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Ribeiro is bucking up trying to escape but Claude cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Ribeiro is trying desperately to improve position.
Claude is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The referee warns Ribeiro that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ribeiro regains half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ribeiro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ribeiro is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ribeiro wants to control but Claude is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Claude wants to stand but Ribeiro has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Ground and pound from Claude.

Claude is looking for a kimura but Ribeiro is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Claude to get the leverage.
Ribeiro moves into full guard.
Ribeiro thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Claude gets caught flat footed, as Ribeiro shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Ribeiro drops back looking for a leg! Claude is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Claude manages to kick Ribeiro off! Ribeiro jumps back into Claude's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nuno Ribeiro dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ribeiro doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Claude counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Nuno Ribeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Claude gets a clinch.
Ribeiro tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Claude just stands there and leans against the cage.
Claude trying to control the position but instead, Ribeiro has worked for underhooks and has pushed Claude into the cage.

Claude breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ribeiro ducks right into an uppercut from Claude.
Claude throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Claude clinches up with Ribeiro and pushes him back against the cage.

Claude works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Claude has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ribeiro to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Claude is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ribeiro pulls down on the head and he's put Claude to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Nuno Ribeiro!
