Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corey Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wan Tan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes into the arena with Shadows fall - Still I Rise blaring out of the sound system. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Corey Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wan Tan!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Alves throws a leg kick that misses.

Alves changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Alves landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Alves landing a few strikes.
Alves throws a strike aimed at the side of Tan's head but Tan avoids it well.
Alves throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Tan gets back to half guard.
Alves missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Alves is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Tan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tan trying to control here.

Alves thows a huge punch but Tan dodges it nicely.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Alves closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alves lands in his opponent's guard.
Alves is looking to stand up but Tan won't let him.
Alves working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Tan is trying to control the position but Alves postures up.

Tan looking for a guillotine here but Alves defends easily.
Alves keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Tan's head.
Alves throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Tan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Alves throwing strikes from guard but Tan blocks nicely.
Alves has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Alves throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Alves is breathing heavily.

Tan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Tan throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Alves escapes and throws Tan's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Alves is putting a hurting on Tan here, landing some big shots from side control.
Tan is looking for a sweep.
Tan sneaks back into half guard.
Tan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Alves.

Alves got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alves has managed to get both his arms back between Tan's legs - danger averted.
Alves wants to pass the guard but Tan is keeping the position.

Tan is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Alves frees his head nicely. Oh but Tan has switched to an armbar! Alves is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
