The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardona leaves Way with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Way shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Way seems to be working for a kimura but Cardona defends the submission attempt.
Cardona is doing well to control the position and prevent Way from advancing to side control.
Way is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Cardona is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Way's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Way's back!
Way prevents Cardona from getting a body triangle.

Cardona sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Way's guard.
