PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corwin Anstey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clayton Epp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anstey comes into the arena with Gonna Fly Now blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Clayton Epp was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Clayton Epp!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anstey slaps away a takedown attempt from Epp, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Anstey displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Epp.

Corwin Anstey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clayton Epp.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Epp gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Epp can do anything to dispel that myth.
Anstey is in close to Epp's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Epp is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Anstey scores with a couple of nice shots.

Anstey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Epp keeps working.
Anstey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Epp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anstey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like Clayton Epp has been cut.
Anstey is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Epp goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Anstey!
