Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kirby Puckett!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puckett misses with an uppercut.
Puckett is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smith.
Puckett throws a lazy right hand but Smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Puckett misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Puckett sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Puckett throws a hook but Smith avoids it easily.
Puckett throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.
Puckett misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Puckett lands a left and a right that send Smith crashing to the mat, dazed. Puckett thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Smith shoots in and bounces Puckett off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Puckett to the mat! Puckett manages to get full guard.

Puckett wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Smith sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Puckett's guard.
Smith thows a huge punch but Puckett dodges it nicely.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Puckett is not content to let Smith control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Jordan Smith will probably get the nod.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Smith here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Puckett is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Smith is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Puckett sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Puckett is looking to control Smith's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Puckett avoid being mounted?

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Puckett's temple.
