Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brian Bingle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Matrione (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Matrione!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matrione is looking to clinch but Bingle is avoiding it.
Bingle showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Matrione.
Matrione fails in his attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Matrione is defended easily by Bingle.
Matrione is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Matrione shoots in and drives through. Bingle sprawls well.

Bingle looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Matrione is looking to stand up but Bingle isn't so interested in that idea.
Matrione keeping moving, preventing Bingle from controlling successfully.
Bingle is looking to work some ground and pound but Matrione has wrist control.
Bingle tries to free his leg and advance position but Matrione is retaining full guard.

Matrione looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Bingle wants to stand but Matrione is controlling his posture from full guard.
Bingle trying to control the position from guard on top but Matrione is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bingle drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bingle postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Matrione wants to stand but Bingle is controlling the position.
Matrione looks gassed!

Bingle drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bingle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Matrione fails with an attempt to clinch.
Matrione is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Matrione gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bingle counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Brian Bingle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Matrione.
Bingle content to control rather than advance.

Bingle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bingle working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Bingle looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Matrione with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bingle seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Matrione wants to control but Bingle is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Matrione is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bingle scores with a couple of nice shots.
Bingle is looking to take a break and control but Matrione is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bingle stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matrione is not content to let Bingle control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Bingle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Bingle blocks the strikes from Matrione.

Matrione looking for submissions off his back.
Matrione is refusing to be controlled, as Bingle sits in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bingle wants to advance to full mount but Matrione doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Matrione working a defensive guard here.
Matrione being controlled here, momentarily.
Bingle with a flurry of punches that miss.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bingle looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Bingle not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Matrione is staying active underneath Bingle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Matrione has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bingle is working away from the top position though.
Bingle is trying to control. Matrione wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Matrione misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Bingle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A combination from Matrione does no damage.
Matrione shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bingle defends it nicely.

Bingle feints and as Matrione raises his hands in defense, Bingle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bingle postures up.
Bingle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Matrione wants to get back to his feet but Bingle is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Matrione had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bingle defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Bingle dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Matrione thows a body shot but no joy.
Brian Bingle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bingle moves into the clinch.
Bingle missing with knees to the body.

Bingle pulls Matrione into guard.
Bingle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Matrione accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matrione stands up and waves to Bingle to follow him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Matrione tries for a takedown but Bingle circles away easily

and Bingle counters with a takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bingle decides to stand back up. Bingle steps back and let's Matrione get back to his feet.

No luck for Matrione with that takedown attempt.
No joy there for Matrione, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bingle shoots in for a takedown but Matrione shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Bingle as Matrione shoots in.
Brian Bingle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Matrione.
Bingle throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Matrione's head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bingle comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Bingle digs a right hand into Matrione's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Matrione's gas tank.
Bingle jumps guard but Matrione stands there with Bingle around his waist. Bingle gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bingle tries to break free but Matrione pushes him back against the cage.
Matt Matrione has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Matrione lands with a right to the head.
Bingle tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Matrione takes an elbow to the temple.
Bingle stalling in the clinch but Matrione improves position.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Bingle is trying to break the clinch but Matrione is controlling him.
Matrione jumps guard but Bingle stands there with Matrione around his waist. Matrione gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bingle has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Matrione clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Matrione trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Bingle loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Matrione hold on?
Bingle punches the canvas rather than the man.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Bingle controlling the positon.
Bingle wants to control the position but Matrione frees himself and scrambles - Bingle manages to regain control in side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Matrione struggling a bit here.

Matrione sneaks out the side door and pushes Bingle away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Matrione looks for a takedown but Bingle sprawls well.
Matrione throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bingle makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Bingle darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Bingle content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brian Bingle showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bingle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
