Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Topher McMahon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeMarco Mariano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DeMarco Mariano!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mariano gets a clinch.
McMahon throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

McMahon breaks the clinch.
McMahon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mariano fails with a takedown attempt.

Mariano decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Mariano uses his free foot to push down on McMahon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for McMahon.
Mariano scoring with strikes but McMahon is staying in there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McMahon defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mariano.

Mariano working for a submission but McMahon is keeping him at bay.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McMahon is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Mariano fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Mariano has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mariano takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
McMahon is breathing heavily.
The referee warns McMahon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

McMahon is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mariano lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Mariano get's back to his feet.

McMahon tries to clinch but Mariano moves away

and Mariano counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McMahon's guard now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mariano is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mariano stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Mariano gets the takedown into side control.

Mariano is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McMahon has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McMahon wants to control but Mariano postures up.

Mariano tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mariano has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mariano has worked his way into a potential kimura here. McMahon is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mariano yanks on the arm and McMahon is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mariano.
