The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Royal closes the distance and pushes JJ back into the cage.

Royal really wants to buck JJ off and get back to his feet.

JJ wants to finish this one by submission but Royal is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from JJ.
JJ lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Royal is looking to improve his position but JJ isn't that keen on the idea.
Royal tries to lock up and control but JJ gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Royal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with JJ. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

JJ is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Royal is surviving well by controlling JJ's body position as best he can.

JJ is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Royal is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Royal flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. JJ anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Royal and secures both hooks! This could be bad! JJ slips an arm under Royal chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. JJ has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. JJ is squeezing on Royal like an anaconda would it's prey. Royal fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
