PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Natural Born Killer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wayne has chosen Last of my kind as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Natural Born Killer has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Natural Born Killer seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killer blocks the body kick.

Killer shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Killer is thwarting Wayne's attempts to control the position.
Killer works his way into full mount!

Killer looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Wayne is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Killer lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Killer blocks Wayne's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Wayne is trying to escape the mount but Killer keeps good control and instead manages to take Wayne's back.

Killer is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Wayne has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Wayne controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Wayne is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Killer gets his way!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Killer struggling to land strikes to the head as Wayne covers up.

Wayne defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Killer's arms.
Wayne is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Killer off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Wayne is in a bad position with Killer working for a choke. Wayne manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wayne is looking to work some ground and pound but Killer has wrist control.

Killer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wayne won't allow Killer to sweep him here.
Wayne must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Killer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wayne defends well.

Wayne decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Killer, up you get!

Wayne connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Killer momentarily.

and Killer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wayne's guard.
Killer tries to free his leg and advance position but Wayne is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Killer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wayne is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wayne has escaped and now he's on top!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wayne accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wayne wants to stand up but Killer is controlling him.

Wayne is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Wayne is trying to stand and escape. In the scramble, Killer has locked hold of an arm and he's managed to lock on an armbar - Wayne taps out instantly and this one is all over!
