The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Airaldi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Simson.
Simson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Airaldi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Simson decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Simson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Airaldi as he jumps to the side.
Airaldi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Simson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Airaldi slips under a jab from Simson.
Simson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Airaldi tries to avoid it but Simson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Airaldi to the ground. Airaldi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Simson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Homer Simson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Airaldi tries to clinch but Simson is having none of it.
Simson lands a body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Simson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Airaldi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Simson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Simson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Airaldi!

It looks like Ricardo Airaldi has been cut.
Airaldi is trying to escape the mount but Simson keeps good control and instead manages to take Airaldi's back.
