Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Randy Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Caraway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel shoots in for a double leg but Caraway sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Caraway lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Steel has a takedown stuffed.
Caraway lands a jab-cross combination.

Caraway is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Steel's half guard.
Caraway is controlling the pace.
Caraway wants to take a breather but Steel is having none of it.

Steel shoots for a takedown but Caraway saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Caraway counters with a left and a right that stings Steel.
Caraway scores with a one two! Steel had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Caraway is looking to slow Steel down with leg kicks.
Caraway scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Caraway lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Caraway works over Steel's head and body with a nice combination.
Steel is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Caraway.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Caraway.
James Caraway seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Caraway jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Steel walks away with a smile on his face. Caraway gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Steel. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Caraway will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Caraway moves in looking to clinch but Steel pushes him off.
Steel tries to clinch up but Caraway circles away and keeps his distance.

Caraway is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Steel gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Steel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Caraway - the referee stops the clock and Steel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Caraway. Steel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

James Caraway showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Steel is trying to control the action in half guard but Caraway is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

James Caraway comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Caraway has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
