Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Fisher!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher misses with a few strikes there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fisher looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fisher shoots in but Belfort avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fisher gets a clinch.

Fisher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fisher steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Belfort.
Fisher tries to clinch but Belfort moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fisher shoots in for a takedown but Belfort shows good takedown defense.

Belfort is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

and Belfort counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fisher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Belfort tries to avoid it but Fisher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Belfort to the ground. Belfort escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fisher throws a combination. Belfort tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Belfort throws a series of punches but Fisher avoids them all with ease.
Belfort looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Belfort dives in and grabs Fisher's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fisher pushes down on Belfort's head and hops out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Belfort stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Belfort looks to land a combination but Fisher avoids it well.

and Fisher counters with a nice low kick that buckles Belfort's knee momentarily.

Vitor Belfort is winning the standup battle so far.
Belfort shoots in and drives through. Fisher sprawls well.
Fisher throws a shot from downtown. Belfort moves away and avoids it.
Fisher shoots in looking for a takedown. Belfort tries to sprawl out of it but Fisher keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Belfort manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Belfort throws a hook to the side of Fisher's head but Fisher sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Belfort is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Belfort misses with a takedown attempt - Fisher sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Belfort wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Belfort avoids a punch combination nicely.

Fisher shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Fisher thows a huge punch but Belfort dodges it nicely.
Fisher thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Belfort's head.
Belfort on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Belfort tries to get out of the position.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Belfort holds on and takes a little breather.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Belfort will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Vitor Belfort is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Belfort sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Belfort tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Belfort seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fisher for as long as he can get away with.
Fisher squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Belfort, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
