The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendrix takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hendrix slips a straight right by Hitmonchan.
Hendrix misses with a straight right.
The Punchy Pokemon Hitmonchan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hendrix looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hitmonchan throws a series of punches but Hendrix avoids them all with ease.
No luck for Hendrix with that takedown attempt.
Hendrix swings for the body but Hitmonchan moves out of range.
Hitmonchan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Hendrix is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hitmonchan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hendrix shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hitmonchan pinned against the cage. Hitmonchan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hendrix throws the left hand but Hitmonchan avoids the punch easily.
The Punchy Pokemon Hitmonchan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hitmonchan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hendrix stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hitmonchan wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hitmonchan lunges at Hendrix with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hendrix's hand.

Hendrix is rocked!

Hitmonchan lands a left and a right that send Hendrix crashing to the mat, dazed. Hitmonchan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh Hendrix is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hitmonchan lands a nice looking body shot.
Good leg kick by Hitmonchan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Hendrix walks straight into a right hand from Hitmonchan - that's dropped him! Hitmonchan jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Hendrix from any more punishment! Hendrix complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
