Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Prokhor Stalevarov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mir Steven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Prokhor Stalevarov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mir Steven!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steven shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Steven not doing much here.

Stalevarov looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Stalevarov looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Steven stops Stalevarov from getting back to his feet.
Steven content to control rather than advance.
Steven wants to control but Stalevarov is keeping him busy.

Stalevarov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Steven pulls his head out easily.

Steven stands up and beckons Stalevarov to join him on the feet.

and Steven counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

and Steven counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Steven.
Steven works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Steven looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Steven content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Steven looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Steven wants to pass to mount but Stalevarov is defending the position.

Steven passes to side control.

Steven decides to stand back up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stalevarov shoots and misses

and Steven counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stalevarov is looking for a sweep. Steven is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Stalevarov could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Stalevarov trying to get back to full guard but Steven takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Steven lands a nice shot to the head.
Stalevarov working to try and regain half guard.
Stalevarov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stalevarov wants to control but Steven is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mir Steven dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Steven shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Steven lands a couple of elbows.
Steven controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Stevenis looking to pass into half guard but Stalevarov pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Stalevarov is in guard.
Steven manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stalevarov manages to get himself to full guard.

Steven stands up over Stalevarov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mir Steven has got the better of the ground game so far.
Steven sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stalevarov's guard.
Stalevarov manages to get to full guard.

Steven wants to stand but Stalevarov has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Steven is breathing heavily.
Steven slips nicely into half guard.
Stalevarov is trying to stand up here but Steven is controlling him well.
Steven content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Steven wants to pass to mount but Stalevarov is defending the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Steven is thwarting Stalevarov's attempts to control the position.

Steven is looking for a kimura here.
Steven wants to control but Stalevarov is keeping him busy.
Stalevarov looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Stalevarov wants to improve his position but Steven is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stalevarov tries to clinch but Steven moves away

so Steven counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Stalevarov keeping moving, preventing Steven from controlling successfully.

Stalevarov is looking for a triangle but Steven pushes his legs off easily.
Steven slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Steven trying to control the position from guard on top but Stalevarov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Steven is looking to stand up but Stalevarov won't let him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Steven is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stalevarov is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stalevarov has escaped and now he's on top!
Steven is trying to control the position but Stalevarov postures up.
Steven utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Steven wants to sweep but no luck.
Stalevarov wants to stand but Steven has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Steven tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Steven is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mir Steven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Stalevarov doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Steven counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Steven.
Steven is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Steven stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stalevarov.
Stalevarov closes the distance and clinches up with Steven, looking for a takedown. Stalevarov pushes Steven against the ropes but Steven circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Steven feints and as Stalevarov raises his hands in defense, Steven changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Steven passes Stalevarov's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Steven wants to take a breather but Stalevarov is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Steven trying to mount his opponent but Stalevarov defends it.
Steven seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mir Steven.
Stalevarov has his takedown stuffed

and Steven counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stalevarov's guard now.

Stalevarov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Steven can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Steven passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Steven.
Stalevarov trying to get back to full guard but Steven takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Stalevarov tries to hold on but Steven pushes him away.
Steven takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Steven has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Steven prevents Stalevarov from getting the reversal.

Stalevarov wants to hold on but Steven pushes him away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stalevarov is trying desperately to improve position.
Stalevarov taking shots to the head.
Steven tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Stalevarov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Prokhor Stalevarov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stalevarov is in a horrible position here. Steven smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Mir Steven is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mir Steven comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Steven has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
