Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Beardwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Synyster Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beardwood kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Black Angels - Young Men Dead. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beardwood misses with a wild body shot.
A nice combination there by Gates.

Gates darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Let's hope that Gates has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Beardwood might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Despite being in the dominant position, Synyster Gates just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Beardwood throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gates stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Beardwood keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Beardwood ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gates moves away.
Nigel Beardwood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Horrible takedown by Gates or perhaps it was just good defense by Beardwood which made him look bad.
Beardwood misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gates throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beardwood's waist but Beardwood gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gates off to one side.
Nigel Beardwood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Synyster Gates.
Beardwood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gates.

Beardwood lands a left and a right that send Gates crashing to the mat, dazed. Beardwood thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Beardwood circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Gates tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Beardwood wins by KO!
