PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darren Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Van DaRoss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller comes into the arena with 3005 blaring out of the sound system. DaRoss comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Camarillo Brillo, by Frank Zappa kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darren Miller!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Van DaRoss!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller throws a nice looking combination but DaRoss bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Miller really is a fat lump.
Miller dives in and grabs DaRoss's left leg, looking for a takedown. DaRoss pushes down on Miller's head and hops out.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

DaRoss bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

DaRoss tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no DaRoss has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

DaRoss is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Miller is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
DaRoss passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Miller wants to hold on but DaRoss pushes him away.
DaRoss can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Miller is looking to escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Miller postures up in DaRoss's guard and throws a big left but DaRoss blocks it.
DaRoss looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Miller puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
DaRoss moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
DaRoss manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
DaRoss can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Miller is looking to escape.
Van DaRoss has got the better of the ground game so far.

DaRoss goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Miller is on top in guard.

DaRoss seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Miller is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
