The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yup misses with an uppercut. Rolston saw that one coming.
Rolston lands with a nice body punch.

Rolston closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rolston thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rolston has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rolston stands up from half guard.
Rolston slips a jab and a cross from Yup.
Rolston slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Rolston fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Rolston drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rolston throwing strikes from guard but Yup blocks nicely.
Yup really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rolston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rolston postures up in Yup's guard and throws a big left but Yup blocks it.
Rolston is looking to work some ground and pound but Yup has wrist control.

Rolston drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rolston jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Yup looking for a sweep. Not yet Yup, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rolston slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rolston landing a few strikes.

Yup is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rolston has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Yup looks gassed!
Yup takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Rolston misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Rolston decides to stand back up.
Yup moves forwards but Rolston connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Ricky Rolston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rolston throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Rolston ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Rolston scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Yup throws a jab but it's blocked by Rolston.

Rolston shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Yup napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Rolston is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Yup is trying to escape and Rolston transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Yup is forced to tap! Nice work there by Rolston! Very nice indeed!
