Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaun Swagger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Nigel Winters!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winters swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Winters needs to keep his hands up - Swagger had a free shot at his head there.
Winters swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Winters fails with a takedown attempt.
Winters misses with a two punch combination.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Winters has Swagger pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Swagger manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Swagger keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Winters's efforts to push away.
Swagger is working Winters over against the cage.

Swagger breaks the clinch.

Swagger fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Winters, pushing him back against the cage.
Winters tries to break free but Swagger pushes him back against the cage.
Winters drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Shaun Swagger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nigel Winters.
Winters can't break the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Winters's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Winters working hard to break the clinch.
Winters wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Swagger has him pressed against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Swagger content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Winters has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Swagger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Winters fails to land the takedown.
Winters looks gassed!
Winters takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Winters looks to land a combination but Swagger avoids it well.

Swagger gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Swagger has Winters pressed against the cage, preventing Winters from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Winters looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Swagger lands a body shot.

Swagger pulls guard successfully.

Swagger is looking for a triangle but Winters pushes his legs off easily.
Winters in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Winters must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Swagger not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Winters makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Winters stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Swagger throws up his legs and catches Winters in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Winters tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Swagger! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Shaun Swagger!
