And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Roosevelt!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Roosevelt.
Roosevelt scores with a nice body kick.
Poddubny is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Roosevelt lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Ivan Poddubny has been cut.

Roosevelt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Poddubny's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Roosevelt tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Poddubny is able to avoid easily.
Roosevelt throws a wild body kick that Poddubny sees coming a mile off.
Roosevelt shoots for a double leg takedown but Poddubny sprawls well. He's pushed Roosevelt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Roosevelt moves in looking to clinch but Poddubny pushes him off.

Roosevelt tries for a takedown but Poddubny sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Roosevelt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Poddubny sprawls well. Poddubny wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Roosevelt gets slowly back to his feet.
Ivan Poddubny has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Roosevelt.

Poddubny cracks Roosevelt with a big right hand but Roosevelt just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Poddubny closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Roosevelt throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Frank Roosevelt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Roosevelt has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
