Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nigel Sneijder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Clessie Cummins!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sneijder tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sneijder tries to close the distance and clinch but Cummins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sneijder wants to clinch up but Cummins keeps it at a distance.
Cummins lands a nice looking body shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sneijder looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sneijder throws a head kick that misses.
Cummins tries to clinch up but Sneijder circles away and keeps his distance.
Sneijder closes the distance but Cummins moves to the side
and Cummins counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sneijder is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Sneijder moves into the clinch.

Cummins decides to pull guard.
Sneijder wants to control from the top but Cummins keeps moving.

Cummins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sneijder postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sneijder wants to pass the guard but Cummins is keeping the position.
Cummins pulls Sneijder in close to his closed guard and prevents Sneijder from doing any damage or advancing position.
Cummins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sneijder is controlling him.
Sneijder wants to control from the top but Cummins keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sneijder closes the distance looking to clinch

and Cummins holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sneijder lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sneijder.
Sneijder is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Sneijder has Cummins pressed against the cage, preventing Cummins from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Sneijder looking to throw knees to the head but Cummins is blocking nicely.
Cummins tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sneijder pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Cummins using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sneijder has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Sneijder lands an elbow inside that Cummins shrugs off.

Cummins wants the takedown. Sneijder is fighting it off but Cummins persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sneijder's guard against the cage.

Sneijder is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cummins wants to control from the top but Sneijder keeps moving.

Cummins stands up and beckons Sneijder to his feet.
Sneijder wants to clinch but Cummins slips to the side

and Cummins moves into the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Sneijder.
Sneijder tries to land a knee to the head but Cummins blocks with his arms.
Cummins lands a good knee to the midsection. Sneijder won't want to take too many of those.

Cummins tries to break the clinch but Sneijder is controlling the position.

Sneijder pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cummins misses with an uppercut.

Cummins rushes Sneijder and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cummins blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Cummins drags the fight down to the ground.
Cummins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sneijder's guard.

Cummins slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Cummins tries for a kimura but Sneijder is defending well.
Cummins is looking to take a break and control but Sneijder is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sneijder tries to improve position but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clessie Cummins dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Cummins counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Cummins counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sneijder won't be happy with that.

Sneijder with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Sneijder tries to land knees in the clinch but Cummins avoids the damage to the body.
Sneijder prevents a takedown attempt there.
Sneijder throws a knee to the head but misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cummins manages to break the clinch.
Cummins throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sneijder stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sneijder with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Cummins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sneijder walks away with a smile on his face. Cummins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Sneijder stuffs the takedown.
Nigel Sneijder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clessie Cummins.
Cummins is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sneijder sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sneijder feints and then cracks Cummins's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cummins down.

and Cummins counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sneijder's guard now.
Cummins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Cummins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sneijder is looking to escape.

Cummins shoots in looking for a takedown. Sneijder tries to sprawl out of it but Cummins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sneijder manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sneijder pushes Cummins off and gets back to his feet.
Sneijder swats away the attempt to clinch by Cummins.
Cummins shoots in and drives through. Sneijder sprawls well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Clessie Cummins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cummins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
