The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyko misses with a looping right.

Boyko tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Boyko throws a right and a left that both miss.

Boyko misses with a series of wild punches.
Boyko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Boyko wants it to stay on the feet.
Boris Boyko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boyko doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.
Boyko throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boyko's waist but Boyko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Boyko sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Boyko is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Boyko pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gracie has hold of Boyko's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Boyko seems comfortable defending it but Gracie has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Boyko is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Boyko is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gracie couldn't care less - he's delighted!
