PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cloud Strife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bob hope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Cloud Strife has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Cloud Strife seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like bob hope has been cut.
hope misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Strife shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has hope pinned against the cage. hope gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
hope swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
hope throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

hope shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Strife manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
hope stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strife swivels though and keeps the full guard.

hope stands up from Strife's guard - hope perhaps looking for a knockout.
hope misses with a wild body shot.
hope closes the distance and lands a one-two.

hope feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Strife's calf.

hope looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
hope is trying to control the action in half guard but Strife is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
It looks like hope is going to stand back up.

hope looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Strife wants to control but hope is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Strife throws a series of punches but hope moves out of range.
hope lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Strife backs up against the cage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

A looping hook to the body misses from hope. Strife does a little dance to reset his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
hope wants to stand up but Strife is controlling him.
hope is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that Cloud Strife will probably get the nod.

Strife throws a nice looking combination but hope bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Strife takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Strife dives in and grabs hope's left leg, looking for a takedown. hope pushes down on Strife's head and hops out.

Strife has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from hope finds it's way round the side to connect with Strife's head.

Cloud Strife overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

hope seems a little lost for a moment, as Strife dominates the positioning.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Strife, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
