Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Junior Felix!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Felix as he avoids it easily.
Wilson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice takedown defense from Felix. No joy for Wilson on that attempt.

Felix has taken the fight to the clinch.

Wilson breaks the clinch.
John Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wilson tries to clinch

so Felix counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Felix stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wilson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Felix working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Felix throwing strikes but missing.

Felix tries to free his leg and advance position but Wilson is retaining full guard.

Felix wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.
Felix makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Felix stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wilson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Felix passes Wilson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Wilson is staying active underneath Felix, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Felix stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wilson lands with a cross.
Felix with a lazy takedown attempt

and Wilson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Felix pulls Wilson in to control the position.
Felix looks gassed!
Felix has momentary wrist control but Wilson slips an elbow through the middle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wilson gets to his feet - Felix follows without any prompting.
Wilson looks to clinch

and Felix counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Felix landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Wilson breaks the clinch.
Wilson throws a series of punches but Felix moves out of range.

and Wilson counters with a left and a right that stings Felix.
A swing and a miss from Felix.
Wilson falls off balance throwing a combination

and Felix holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Wilson lands an uppercut.
Wilson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Felix pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Felix gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Felix works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wilson wants to control but Felix is having none of it.
Felix tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Felix has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Felix wants to control the pace but Wilson is squirming around nicely.

Felix working for a guillotine from mount but Wilson is in no mood to give up.
Felix trying to control but Wilson is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Felix sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Wilson is wriggling around trying to escape.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Felix content just to control the position here.
Felix moves to the back position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Junior Felix dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


It's a brutal combination of punches from Felix! Wilson is backing up but he can't get away as Felix lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Wilson and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Junior Felix!
