The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Almeida as he jumps to the side.
Oliveira tries to score a power double leg takedown but Almeida sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Oliveira somewhat.
Almeida displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Oliveira.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charles Oliveira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Oliveira dives in and grabs Almeida's left leg, looking for a takedown. Almeida pushes down on Oliveira's head and hops out.
Almeida leaves Oliveira with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Oliveira misses with a takedown attempt - Almeida sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
