Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zempolateca shoots in but McCool avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Zempolateca tries to clinch there but McCool circles away.
Zempolateca looks for a takedown but McCool sprawls well.
Zempolateca is looking to clinch but McCool is avoiding it.
McCool clinches up with Zempolateca and pushes him back against the cage.
McCool wants to break the clinch but can't.

It looks like Finn McCool has been cut.

Zempolateca drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McCool gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Finn McCool has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnachaidh Zempolateca.
Zempolateca using the Thai plumb to throw knees but McCool has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Zempolateca is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Zempolateca escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zempolateca misses with a takedown attempt - McCool sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Zempolateca shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Zempolateca was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
McCool bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

McCool trying to control the position from guard on top but Zempolateca is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McCool works over Zempolateca with some ground and pound from guard.
McCool stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zempolateca swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McCool prevents Zempolateca from getting back to his feet.
McCool thows a big elbow that misses.
McCool postures up in Zempolateca's guard and throws a big left but Zempolateca blocks it.
McCool postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zempolateca can do anything to dispel that myth.
McCool trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Zempolateca shoots in looking for a takedown. McCool tries to sprawl out of it but Zempolateca keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McCool manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McCool closes the distance looking to clinch
and Zempolateca counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
McCool pushes Zempolateca back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McCool creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
McCool throws a knee to the head but misses.
McCool is working Zempolateca over against the cage.

Zempolateca unloads a knee to the mid-section. McCool lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Zempolateca manages to break the clinch.
Zempolateca shoots for a takedown but McCool saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McCool clinches but Zempolateca breaks the clinch
and Zempolateca counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCool wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
McCool is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Zempolateca off and has taken his back!
McCool throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Zempolateca!
McCool lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Zempolateca.
McCool lands strikes to the head.
Zempolateca grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Zempolateca trying to get back to his feet but McCool is in full control for now.

Zempolateca is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Zempolateca throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by McCool.
McCool is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Zempolateca fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Zempolateca gets a clinch.
McCool breaks the clinch.
Zempolateca moves into the clinch successfully.
Zempolateca connects with a knee to the head.
McCool goes for a takedown in the clinch but Zempolateca prevents it.
Zempolateca tries to pull guard but McCool won't allow it.
Zempolateca tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Zempolateca has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McCool avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

McCool connects with a nasty looking knee right to Zempolateca's face.
It looks like Donnachaidh Zempolateca has been cut.
Zempolateca breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McCool stuffs the takedown attempt from Zempolateca. Zempolateca gets slowly back to his feet.
Zempolateca is still on wobbly legs! Can McCool finish him?
McCool circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Zempolateca to the canvas! Zempolateca doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - McCool keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
