Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bozigit Atayev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Banokmonafa Magungua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Banokmonafa Magungua has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Atayev closes the distance and clinches.

Magungua is trying to trip Atayev. He has hold of a leg but Atayev is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Magungua persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Magungua jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Atayev walks away with a smile on his face. Magungua gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Atayev is working an open guard so Magungua takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Magungua throws a head kick but Atayev moves out of range.
Bozigit Atayev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Atayev rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Magungua moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Magungua counters with a nice double leg into side control. Atayev won't be happy with that.

Magungua decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Atayev bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Magungua's head backwards.

Magungua gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Atayev to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bozigit Atayev.
