The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smart closes this distance looking for a takedown but GNP circles away.
Smart bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Smart landing strikes.
Smart prevents GNP from escaping the position.
GNP gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

GNP working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, GNP cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

GNP jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Smart is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Smart and GNP has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

GNP has hold of Smart's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Smart seems comfortable defending it but GNP has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Smart is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Smart is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but GNP couldn't care less - he's delighted!
