Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walt Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Emalkay - When I Look At You. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!Walt Potter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Walt Potter!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potter drives through with a takedown into guard.
Potter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Anderson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Potter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Anderson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Anderson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Potter manages to avoid it.

Potter throws some wild stikes that Anderson manages to avoid easily.
Anderson tries to hold on but Potter pushes him away.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sam Anderson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Potter swats away the attempt to clinch by Anderson.
Potter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anderson but Anderson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Anderson feints and then cracks Potter's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Potter down.
Anderson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Potter on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Anderson. Anderson obviously looking to wear him down.
Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Potter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Potter blocks the body kick.
Potter shoots in but no luck this time.
Potter displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Anderson. Potter shrugs it off though.

and Potter counters with a single leg into guard. Anderson didn't expect that.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anderson is on top in guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Potter keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Anderson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Anderson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch but Potter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Anderson fakes the leg kick and cracks Potter in the body.
Anderson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Potter takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Potter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Anderson pinned against the cage. Anderson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Potter sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Potter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Potter stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Anderson.
Anderson tries to clinch there but Potter circles away.
Anderson lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Anderson doesn't manage to clinch there - Potter circles away.
Anderson misses the jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Anderson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Anderson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Anderson throws a head kick but Potter moves out of range.
Anderson feints and then cracks Potter's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Potter down.

Anderson thuds his shin into the meat of Potter's side.
Potter has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Anderson.

and Potter counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anderson won't be happy with that.
Walt Potter has got the better of the ground game so far.
Anderson can't do much from the bottom here.
Anderson is looking for a sweep.

Potter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Anderson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Anderson controlling the position for now.
Anderson moves into full guard.
Anderson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Potter manages to get himself to full guard.
Anderson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anderson trying to control but Potter is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anderson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Sam Anderson showed his dominance in that final round.
