The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tran wants to clinch.

Tran drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tran trying to control the position from guard on top but Gallas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Tran gets to his feet. Gallas looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Tran shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gallas misses with a series of wild punches.

Gallas scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Gallas has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Tran!
Gallas with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Tran is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Gallas is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Tran has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Tran!
Tran wants to pass the guard but Gallas is keeping the position.
Tran must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gallas is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Tran rolls with it to try and escape but Gallas cranks on the arm and Tran is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
