PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Pan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ran Sakamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakamoto comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wu tang tiger style kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Peter Pan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Peter Pan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ran Sakamoto!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakamoto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pan as he avoids it easily.
Pan loads up on a big right hand but Sakamoto slips the punch.

Pan tries to bum rush Sakamoto with a series of wild strikes but Sakamoto uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Pan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sakamoto moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sakamoto stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pan wants it to stay on the feet.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Sakamoto might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Pan has got the better of the exchanges.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pan, as that shot connected.
Pan looks to land a left hand but Sakamoto moved out of range nicely.
Pan stuns Sakamoto with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Pan is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Pan scores with a hook to the body. Sakamoto takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Peter Pan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

No joy there for Pan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Peter Pan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Pan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
