The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lever shoots for a takedown but Putman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Horrible takedown by Lever or perhaps it was just good defense by Putman which made him look bad.
Lever throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Putman's waist but Putman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lever off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Lever. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lever fails to land with a series of punches.
Mike Putman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Putman connects with a single shot there.
Lever on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lever is defended easily by Putman.
Putman drops Lever with a beautiful combination! Lever stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Putman is looking for the KO!

Lever is holding his hands too far apart here. Putman throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Lever is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
