Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cleveland Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hironimus Sokrateles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cleveland Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hironimus Sokrateles!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Brown stands up.

Brown is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sokrateles's half guard.
Brown perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Sokrateles trying to hold on to Brown's head to control him but Brown postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Brown throws a strike but Sokrateles avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Sokrateles keeping full guard, as Brown tries to pass.

Sokrateles escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brown gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sokrateles keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully.

Sokrateles has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brown can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brown in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Brown is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sokrateles controls Brown momentarily but Brown frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sokrateles keeping full guard, as Brown tries to pass.
Brown tries to stand but Sokrateles is controlling from the bottom.

Sokrateles looking for a guillotine here but Brown defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cleveland Brown will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Brown throws a head kick but Sokrateles moves out of range.
Brown throws a right and a left that Sokrateles avoids nicely.
Brown misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sokrateles shoots and misses
and Brown counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Brown fails to land with a series of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sokrateles moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Brown is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sokrateles.
Brown goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Hironimus Sokrateles has been cut.
Sokrateles doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Brown counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Brown misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Brown moves in looking to clinch but Sokrateles pushes him off.

Brown clinches up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sokrateles tries to pull guard but Brown holds him up against the cage and eventually Sokrateles drops back down to his feet.
Cleveland Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hironimus Sokrateles.

Sokrateles has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Brown uses from the top position.

Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but Sokrateles is retaining full guard.
Brown would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sokrateles is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Brown rolls with it to try and escape but Sokrateles cranks on the arm and Brown is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Hironimus Sokrateles!
