PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sevak Magakian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Slamen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Magakian might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sevak Magakian Highlights. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slamen takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Slamen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Magakian feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Magakian wants to stand but Slamen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Slamen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Magakian doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Magakian manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Slamen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Magakian is working to get back to half guard.
Slamen in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Slamen looking to control and managing it successfully.
Magakian wants to control but Slamen is having none of it.
Slamen tries to control but Magakian wriggling away.
Slamen is stalling here but it's allowed Magakian to get half guard.
Magakian makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Magakian.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Slamen postures up.

Slamen is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Magakian has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Slamen is looking to defend but Magakian has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Slamen! Magakian pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Slamen taps out and this one is all over!
