Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Moniz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Dela Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dela Cruz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moniz's waist but Moniz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dela Cruz off to one side.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Moniz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dela Cruz as he jumps to the side.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dela Cruz has Moniz pressed against the cage, preventing Moniz from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Moniz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dela Cruz walks away with a smile on his face. Moniz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dela Cruz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Moniz, pushing him back against the cage.

Dela Cruz is pressed up against the cage. Moniz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dela Cruz down to the mat. Dela Cruz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Dela Cruz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
