PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brett Ing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ing's entrance music is Suburban Train. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Ing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Coleman!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman tries to clinch but Ing moves out of range.
Ing stuffs the takedown attempt from Coleman. Coleman gets slowly back to his feet.

Ing pushes Coleman up against the cage in a clinch.
Ing can't get the takedown.
Ing pressing his opponent against the cage.
Coleman prevents the takedown attempt.
Coleman wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ing has Coleman pressed against the cage.
Coleman has Ing pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ing manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coleman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ing is proving hard to escape from.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Ing blocks a head kick by Coleman.

Ing shoots in and bounces Coleman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The is referee keeping an eye on Ing - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Coleman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ing just stands there and leans against the cage.
Coleman has had enough of the clinch but Ing keeps him there for the moment.

Coleman wants to sweep here but Ing controlling him for the moment.
Coleman will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Ing shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Coleman but Coleman pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ing lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Ing wants to take a breather but Coleman is having none of it.
Ing looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ing's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Coleman shoots in for a double leg but Ing sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Ing decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Coleman's guard.
Coleman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ing controls the pace.
Ing wants to control from the top but Coleman keeps moving.
Ing throws and elbow that misses. Coleman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ing's guard. Nice move by Coleman!
Coleman stands and throws Ing's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Coleman passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Ing!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Coleman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Ing somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
James Coleman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ing rushes Coleman and presses him up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brett Ing showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Ing has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
