Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gill controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gill is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Gill has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Gill seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Johnson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Gill tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gill has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Gill thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gill lands a few punches from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flipper Gill dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Johnson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Johnson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gill checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Flipper Gill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gill uses his free foot to push down on Johnson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Flipper Gill just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Gill bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Gill shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Gill's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gill lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Johnson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Gill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Johnson can do to turn this around?

Gill closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Johnson drops his hands momentarily and Gill takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gill takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Gill stalks Johnson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Johnson's face. Johnson staggers backwards, shaken.


Johnson is rocked!
Are you kidding me?! Gill ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Johnson clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
