Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daavid Haapalainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keiko Nakatomi!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haapalainen slips a straight right by Nakatomi.
Haapalainen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nakatomi throws out the jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nakatomi. Haapalainen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nakatomi throws a hook but Haapalainen avoids it easily.
Keiko Nakatomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nakatomi, as that shot connected.
Haapalainen moves in looking to clinch but Nakatomi pushes him off.
Haapalainen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nakatomi.
Nakatomi swats away the attempt to clinch by Haapalainen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haapalainen moves out of range of the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nakatomi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
The fighters circling - Nakatomi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Haapalainen throws a shot from downtown. Nakatomi moves away and avoids it.
Haapalainen misses with a combination
and Nakatomi counters with a crisp one two that drops Haapalainen! Nakatomi thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Haapalainen to his feet! Haapalainen is in big trouble!
Haapalainen is rocked!
Nakatomi throws a hook to the side of Haapalainen's head but Haapalainen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nakatomi drops Haapalainen with a huge uppercut! Haapalainen drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Nakatomi is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Keiko Nakatomi!
