PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ante Vrban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Przemek Karski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vrban comes to the cage accompanied by What up Gangsta. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Przemek Karski was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ante Vrban!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Przemek Karski!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vrban is looking to clinch but Karski is avoiding it.

Karski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Karski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Karski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vrban is adopting a defensive guard.
Vrban throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Karski trying to control the position from guard on top but Vrban is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Vrban working for a triangle but Karski defends it easily.
Karski trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Karski stops Vrban from standing up.
Vrban keeping moving, preventing Karski from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Karski tries for a takedown but Vrban sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Vrban could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's one minute gone in the round.

and Karski counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Karski is trying to work for a kimura but Vrban is defending well.

Karski is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Karski is looking for a kimura but Vrban is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Karski to get the leverage.
Karski looks gassed!
Vrban is looking to control Karski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vrban avoid being mounted?
Karski prevents Vrban from improving his position.
Karski wants to control but Vrban is keeping him busy.

Vrban is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Karski moves nicely into side control.

Karski looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Vrban knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karski on the ground.
Karski working away.
Vrban manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Vrban tries to roll over but Karski keeps him under control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Karski is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Vrban slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Karski wants to control from the top but Vrban keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Vrban is trying to control the position but Karski postures up.
Karski wants to control from the top but Vrban keeps moving.
Vrban manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Karski taking shots to the head.
Vrban punching from mount but Karski doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Karski is trying to escape the mount.
Karski is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Przemek Karski dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Karski tries for a takedown but Vrban circles away easily
and Vrban counters with a big head kick but Karski shrugs it off.

and Karski counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Karski.
Vrban thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Karski passes Vrban's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Vrban tries to get to full guard but Karski has control of the leg.

Karski is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Karski has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Vrban defend it? Karski steps over the head and cranks it - Vrban is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Karski!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Przemek Karski!
