The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avers cracks Paristo with a right hand to the side of the head.
Paristo throws a shot from downtown. Avers moves away and avoids it.

Avers displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Paristo throws out the jab.
Paristo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Avers.

Avers throws a lazy right hand but Paristo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Avers throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Paristo just misses with a punch to the body.

Avers misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Paristo.

Paristo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Avers's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pekka Paristo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Avers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Paristo was well out of range. Poor timing from Avers.

Paristo connects with a nice cross there... Avers is looking wobbly and Paristo recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Avers to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Paristo jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
